According to Polis, "Colorado is home to awe-inspiring, world-class outdoor jewels, rich cultural heritage, and one-of-a-kind attractions that give a limitless number of reasons to come." "Our government is assisting towns throughout our state that seem to be tourist attractions to assist our economy in thriving, handle critical local concerns like affordable worker housing, and generate employment." This Tourism Rehabilitation Marketing Grant was made possible by funds made available by the American Rescue and Reinvestment Plan Act. These funds were made available to the state of Colorado through the Travel, Tourism, and Outdoor Recreation State Grant offered by the United States Economic Development Administration. Officials from the state have said that the grant program's purpose is to encourage tourists to visit cities and towns in Colorado that are still recovering from the COVID-19 outbreak.
This Tourism Rehabilitation Marketing Grant was made possible by funds made available by the American Rescue and Reinvestment Plan Act. The federal funds for COVID-19 assistance more than quadrupled the number of awards, which totaled $710,000, that perhaps the Colorado Tourist Office gave out the previous year.
Timothy Wolfe, the director of something like the Colorado Tourist Office, said that because of the federal monies received, the state agency can now provide direct help to tourism areas still in the rebuilding process. "Different cultures across the state are recovering at different points in time, and even this additional funding enables our partners to work toward getting back to pre-pandemic levels," which is when we saw passenger name visitor spending of $24.2 billion. "We have different communities throughout the state attempting to recover at different rates."
The Denver Metro Visitors and Conventions Bureau will receive $500,000 to re-establish pre-pandemic initiatives that complement and enhance promotional efforts in overseas markets.
$400,000 will be given to the Colorado Amenities World travel & tourism Bureau to develop a marketing campaign for meetings and events that will leverage the "Paralympic City USA" brand.
Visit Aurora will receive $400,000 for a marketing campaign that will concentrate on inspiring, engaging, and converting conference, convention, and group reservations in the city of Aurora.
$175,000 towards the Fort Collins World travel & tourism Bureau for funding creative assets, media buys, and public relations activities to boost year-round attendance, particularly in the months that are not considered to be peak travel times.
The City county Loveland-Economic Development Corporation received $175,000 to create a multi-pronged marketing strategy to recover market share lost during the pandemic.
$75,000 was awarded to Logan County for a "Free Range Travel" marketing effort to increase awareness of those in the outdoor features anywhere along the Interstate 76 corridor.
The City at La Junta will get $75,000 to launch its first official advertising campaign. New slogan "Rich History, Unexpected Adventure" will be promoted in this marketing push for Visit La Junta. Grantees will have two years from the time they receive their money to put it toward their projects.
The seven grantees were selected from a pool of twelve applicants who requested a combined amount of $3.2 million. According to statements made by authorities from the state, applications were reviewed based on the quality of the suggested marketing efforts, the proven necessity, the demonstrable tourist benefit from the pandemic, and the execution ability.
A total of $1.8 million in loans ranging from $75,000 through $500,000 will be distributed to charitable organizations in Denver, Colorado Shock absorbers, Aurora, Lighthouse Collins, Loveland, Sterling, and La Junta. The one-time monies are available for marketing and promotional efforts for tourism in the city, county, or regional area.
